эк. тр., разг. отпуск по болезни [нетрудоспособности\], больничный (отпуск, предоставляемый работнику, который неспособен выполнять трудовые обязанности из-за болезни, беременности или необходимости ухода за нетрудоспособными членами семьи; иногда используется как полный синоним disability leave, иногда обозначает только отпуск по болезни работника)

to be on the sick leave — находиться в отпуске по болезни, быть на больничном [на бюллетене\]

paid sick leave — оплачиваемый больничный [отпуск по болезни\]

Sick leave for family care is primarily for emergency situations. Up to forty (40) hours of accrued sick leave credit may be used for family care during any one (1) calendar year. — Отпуск для ухода за членами семьи предоставляется в случаях крайней необходимости. В течение одного календарного года работник может использовать в сумме не более 40 часов такого отпуска.
